Prime Matchmaking NOT WORKING! - another account is already associated?

So I noticed that it took me over ten minutes to find a competitve game of matchmaking and tried restarting my computer and router to fix it. Turns out I hadn't activated my Prime Matchmaking on the top left of my screen.
After reading through the info of Prime I agreed to everything and pressed "Upgrade" so I could join my friends who were all finding games fast and enjoying matchmaking without cheaters and what not.
I waited a couple seconds before the message:

"Another CS:GO account is already associated with your phone number. 17 weeks until you can switch it's assiciation to the account you're logged on to."

I was confused as this is the only account I own and this is the only account I have connected with my phone's Steam Authenticator. Now my phone doesn't actually have a phone number, all I use it for is YouTube and Steam, so I can't phone anyone. but this shouldn't be the problem, right?

Anyway all I can think that what could have happened is that someone has stolen my phone's authenticator for Prime on their own profile. Though no one has taken or used my phone. Anyway I need help. FAST, because something is wrong here... Please help. Thank you.

Prime uses an actual phone number. It is not linked to your authenticator nor does it require the authenticator (just a phone number linked to your account). What phone number did you use? A google voice number? A friends number?

no phone number. It never gave me an option to use a phone number for anything I did.

What does it say in the Manage Phone Number section? It should give you the last 4 digits of a phone number. That number is the one you are trying to register for Prime. If you don't have a number there then that would also be a reason for it to fail (you must have a number there to register for Prime).

The reason it's a number not an authenticator is any bans you get during Prime will remain linked to that Phone Number preventing you using it ever again (and making it harder to keep making new accounts and cheating).

You're right. Apparently I do have a phone number connected with it ending in 9757. I don't know how but instead of changing it to another phone number, would I be able to remove the phone number but still be able to use Prime?
