Can't screenshot with F12? Try this:
-----------------------------------------------------
-Close steam
-Right click Steam and then chose "run as admin"
-Start a game and try to screenshot
Good luck folks!
In my first test I changed the shortcut key to Num Pad 9 (from F12) then changed it to NONE and then back again to F12 but it wouldn't enter/stayed blank so kept it as Num Pad 9. I did have the overlay on, didn't close the game beforehand though, it wouldn't take screenshots with the new key. So next I did the following:
I noticed that my 'SCREENSHOT FOLDER' was pointing toward a screenshot folder for one of the games I play, probably from me messing around last week trying to fix it :/
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\180710921\760\remote\232090
-Changed screenshot folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\180710921\760\remote
-Changed shortcut key to NONE
-Unchecked steam overlay
-Closed Steam & game then re-opened Steam as Admin
-Went to settings and set Num Pad 9 as keybind because F12 still stayed blank when pressed.
-Checked Steam Overlay
-Unchecked 'Save Uncompressed Copy' (as I had checked it earlier trying to figure out this thing)
-Started the game and pressed Num Pad 9 and it took a screenshot :D
HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE
Thanks worked for me. Run with Admin rights
I rechecked my hot-keys, checked in settings. One day I was taking screenshots with Steam Overlay, next day it just stopped. I didn't make any changes, no software updates. It was odd.
thanks
Nvideo Experience overlay should be disabled as well.
I eventually uninstalled that.
F12 maybe assigned to something else.
Good Luck
