Steam Client randomly changes language to Russian
My steam client changes it's language to Russian by itself as stated. I managed to find the way to change it to English and let it restart, and then it's in English. But the instant steam restarts it goes back to Russian without any prompt or change in settings. I checked out my IP when logging into an alternate account and it is the correct and normal IP, and the steam website is perfectly fine. Google Maps says also states the correct location, and it is extremely annoying to have my language change to Russian after every restart of the client. I've tried deleting everything except Steam.exe and SteamApps and I don't feel like reinstalling every game I own by reinstalling the client, as that would take up to a week with my internet. This is a Client issue and not a Site problem for me. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked your download servers? I doubt that will make any different but it's worth a look anyway.

How would I do that?

In the download section under settings. Although if you don't know how to get there then you probably don't need to change it.

Yeah I didn't really think that would do anything.
Have you changed your password recently?

Nope, and It's making me mad that my favorite game, Spore, has its language changed to Russian every time steam launches it, even if I change the string value for language in the registry.

This is a solution that was posted in another thread about the same issue.

click the arrow by your profile
move your mouse to the 3rd option
English should be the 5th-6th option down in the long list

English should be that option

I have done that, and it changes it back to Russian after another login. And even if steam is in English, it changes the languages of my game to Russian.

You might consider uninstalling/reinstalling Steam. But before doing that, you should move your Steamapps folder to the desktop so you don't need to reinstall all you games again. After Steam installs again, move your Steamapps folder back to the Steam folder. Just another option.

That'd be a lifesaver of time and I somehow never thought of it, I'll try but with caution

Is it working fine now ? did copying your steamapps folder elsewhere before uninstalling and then copying back after reinstalling work fine without any problems ?

It was an item that I installed recently, so if anyone has an issue like this they most likely installed something or pirated something that affected their steam.
