Open Links in External Browser
How do I stop Steam from opening links to websites in its internal browser? Used to be when there was a news post on a game in my library with a 'read more' link, clicking it would open that page in my default browser (Firefox). Now it opens in some kind of Steam built-in web browser. I absolutely do not want this.

To be clear, I am talking about news items linking to specific websites like PCGamer or RPS, not actual game patch notes or update news. I have zero desire to use Steam's built in browser, but I cannot find a setting to disable it and go back to opening links with Firefox, and I haven't found anything searching the net. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. I've stopped clicking on external links. It's just dangerous to open links in some insecure bundled browser.

Same. I won't be clicking anything in Steam for a while until this can be sorted. If anyone can work out a way to set a default external browser again, it would be much appreciated.

Well, it's not a solution, but at least I am not alone. >.>

They've definitely broken something, the URLs still say "externalpost" but they just aren't opening externally, even the news posts for their own games like DOTA 2

Definitely a major issue. I can't click any Read More links without potentially going to a malicious site, or more likely a site with malicious AD code running. Really diminishes the usefulness of Recent News when I can't read any of the stories in Chrome with script blocking enabled.
