Very long download time on new computer??

I'm new to owning a PC and I literally just got my first PC in the mail earlier today. I am trying to download H1Z1: King of the Kill and it looks like it might take a couple hours to install this game to my computer. Is this normal? I'm not sure how long games are SUPPOSED to take to download but for a brand new computer that I just paid 700$ for, it seems to me like this game should be downloading a bit faster??
Estimated time keeps fluctuating between 2 hours and over a day.

Internet is super slow though, webpages and everything are struggling.

I own a laptop and my internet is usually fine... things might download slow sometimes but at least webpages come right up, refreshing doesn't take forever. my laptop does way better and it was cheap

no my laptop ive had for a few years, the desktop is totally new and is just slow... but i will plug straight into the internet and see if that works

For future reference, if you want to use Speedtest without having to install Flash, then go to beta.speedtest.net

how long does steam download in your laptop

Well my computer is $500 USD and it says for Hearts of Iron III which would only take up 1300 MB 14 hours (Note I live in the state of Maine)
