*FIX FOR STEAM UPDATES CAUSING 100% DISK USAGE*
So I've noticed that whenever steam is updating games my pc disk usage shoots up to 100%, causing crashes when I'm gaming.
I understand that my hard drive may be failing but I think I've found a temporary solution, which has the disk usage fall to more manageable levels.
If you click on the "steam" dropdown, in the top left of the window, you'll find the settings menu. Click on "settings", then in the settings window, click on the "downloads" tab. Here, you can find options to limit your bandwidth during downloads. I used to have the bandwidth unlimited, however, after changing it to a 3MB/s limit, I found disk usage to go down to around 30-40%. Also, I unchecked the allow downloads during gameplay, to ensure that my pc won't crash whilst I'm gaming.

Hope this helps others

Turn off Steam ability to Update during Gameplay. With this off, then u shouldn't have any issues like that.
