ScotiaBank Visa debit not working?

I'm trying to buy something on steam with a ScotiaBank Visa Debit (Canada), and its telling me my credit card company is not accepting the transfer (something like that) and that the funds are on hold. I checked my bank theres no holds or no information that steam tried taking money from my account.

All the information I entered is EXACT. Please help I'm tired spending extra money on steam cards :(

Exact Error message:

"Your purchase has not been completed. Your credit card information has been declined by your credit card company.

Note that in some cases, your credit card company may put a 'hold' on funds in your account, but you will not be charged. After correcting any errors in the information displayed below, please try your purchase again."

"something like that" doesn't cut it. Always quote the whole error message.

I'm getting this too, my Scotia Visa Debit will not seem to work despite all my info being correct.

Have you solved this ? If not i will tell you what i did. I use scotia bank as well VISA debit and yes with steam no matter what i did it was a problem. However Steam accepts PayPal. And pay pal can also just take money straight from your VISA Debit as long as it is verified and everything. i just did it like 20 mins ago. Added funds to my wallet through PayPal through Visa Debit. yeah its a hassle but it worked. So set up your EXACT information on Pay Pal and then Use Pay Pal to make the purchase or add funds and it will take from your Scotia Bank card like you were using that option in the first place

I understand that paypal is also a method but personally I like using my card normally, not through another service such as paypal
