I have a question relating to this...can I change my hard drive from a internal drive to one located in a hard drive bay (external)??? If I do, will this affect my play speeds? And I have transferred all my files to the new hard drive, so do I need to change any settings within steam itself, to find the games?

Move the whole Steam folder with the games inside. By far the easiest solution.

Wouldn't it be less chaotic to just change the drive letters? https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-change-a-drive-letter-2626069
