Good morning,
I have a problem with ASF. During the farm of collector cards, it shows me that I am in some game and therefore I can not play other games while collecting a collectible card. I would like the program to work in the background. How can I do this?

For other people, the program works in the background, they can play games etc. during card farms.

They need to update their FAQ then, it does state in there that you can't.

All of the above is nice, but ASF also has some technical limitations that are enforced by Steam - we can't idle games that you don't own, we can't idle games forever in order to get extra drops past the enforced limit, and we can't idle games while you're playing.

Can I play a game while ASF is farming?

No. ASF unlike IM has independent Steam client included, and Steam network allows only one Steam client at a time to play a game. You can however disconnect ASF any time you like by starting a game (and clicking "OK" when asked if Steam network should disconnect other client) - ASF will then patiently wait till you're done playing, and resume the process afterwards. Alternatively, you can still play in offline mode anytime you like, if that is satisfying for you.

Keep in mind that cards drop rate when playing multiple games is close to 0 anyway, therefore there are no direct benefits from being able to do that with IM, while there are strong benefits of no interfering with other games launched with ASF, which is crucial e.g. VAC-wise.

That's sort of the point. ASF pauses while you're playing.

Exactly. You just launch the game, Steam will tell you that "you" are already playing on another computer, and whether you want to kick out that other session. Just make Steam kick out that "other computer" so it launches your game; ASF will detect this, and just sit there waiting for you to quit your game.
