PS4 controller not detected by steam

so I have a macbook and I can easily connect my ps4 controller with bluetooth, I played stranded deep without a problem just like concluse but then I wanted to play left 4 dead 2 with controller and did not work so I go on youtube to search then I discovered big picture mode but my controller won't be detected and now that I used big picture mode I cannot play concluse and the rest with my controller anymore can someone please help me...

You might have to turn it on or off per game.

In big picture mode, when you're about to pick a game, click manage game, then controller options. The top one will let you use your global controller settings (example, if you want PS4 controllers detected, but not Xbox controllers detected, this will do that), force it on (all controllers use it), or force it off (no controller uses it).

Are you using DS4 windows, SCP Toolkit, or something like that?
Edit, might be that the controller isn't fully bound for the game if it's detecting some input in the game.
If that's the case you might have manually set the controller up... I wrote this up a while ago to give a general idea of the basics of this:

no I just use bluetooth I am on macbook and like yesterday I could play concluse with the controller now I can only use the left movestick sorry for bad English I will read the link

I've never tried syncing up a DS4 with bluetooth. Based on my Experience with the Steam controller though, it shouldn't matter. I think it will remember the controller and apply the settings for you. If not, you can just rebind them like you had before. I'd recommend saving your bindings in case you ever need them again so you can reload them.
