Offline mode doesn't work AT ALL

Steps I have taken:

-Updated games that I want to run in offline mode
-Launched said games
-Selected Go Offline. Steam appears to crash as the error reporting tool runs in the background.
-Went online again, except I asked Steam to remember my password before pressing Go Offline again

Just want to make sure that this is an "it's just me" situation and not a recent update actually breaking Offline Mode

Not just you. Just tested it and yes, it never launches.

Seems as if the only way to fix this is to go nuclear on your Steam install (delete everything on your Steam folder besides the steamapps folder and steam.exe)

Save your userdata folder with your screenshots you haven't uploaded yet as well.

just did a fresh install and still won't let me go offline client never opens in offline mode ever since this new update

The lack of a direct offline access mode is irritating especially in a country like South Africa where we have excessive power failures.

I can log onto steam ok but when I go to offline mode nothing happens and I am unable to access any of my games. I have done nothing different

only fix I found is take your steam client out of beta testing then everything works fine

Makes me wonder what they are doing with offline mode to have caused that in the first place.

I'm certainly glad I do not even bother with Steam beta.

they didn't seem to be fixing it so maybe they are going to take away offline mode but its only a guess
