I'm trying to set up steam in linux mint but Steam won't send verification code to mailfence
address. Anyone with similar problem or solution?

Create an account with a more common provider, like gmail.

Looks like a problem on the mailfencen end.

MXToolbox reported multiple issues:

You can do the test for yourself.

Not supporting TLS is something that's an instant "gotta cancel my account" stuff. Sending and receiving emails in plain text without any encryption is .... bad, just bad.

Hi same, problem here, did you manage to solve it? I do not understand what the others users are replying.

EDIT: health is ok https://mxtoolbox.com/emailhealth/mailfence.com/

As you may or may not have noticed, the link does not work, which is why i used a screenshot a month ago.

I just repeated the test, result was the same, server was not responding.

I don't know what is this mxtoolbox doing, but Mailfence does support TLS. Perhaps some tests fail because of antispam, I don't know, but it really is a legit mail provider. You can read about their security practices here: https://mailfence.com/en/secure-email.jsp I don't see why addresses from their domain should not be allowed.

2024 and Steam still doesn't accept mailfence. Mailfence supports TLS and SMTP now, and yet it is still regarded as "disposable" email...

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
