Steam streaming in offline mode
I'm running into some issues here...I'm trying to setup steam streaming on two machines. Both are in offline mode but recognize each other. Both clients in beta with up-to-date clients. Both machines are windows 8.1, using a Netgear R7000 router. When I try to start a game on the client side, I get either a "Authentication failed" or "Timed out waiting for stream" message. Any ideas? Or does Steam streaming not work in offline mode?

Streaming should work fine in offline mode. I know this personally because I had an internet outage for the better part of a week and it kept me from going insane. Make sure you can do basic network things first -- ping, access over SMB via Network, check your firewalls. Something may be keeping the two machines from interacting with each other, and if Windows can't interface with itself over the network, Steam sure won't either.
