question about free games
how do you tell if a game is permanent once downloaded or if its going to go away once the time ends? ik sometimes they give free games but how do you tell the difference between the free and temp free

Temp free games usually say "3 days left" for example and it'll be posted all over the store saying free trial and 75% (for example) off i beleive recently they done that for Call of Duty Ghosts multiplayer and free games will just be under the section "Free To Play" (or should be)

It's really just what the shop page says.

Free Weekends are already in your library, have a countdown, and you can buy them in the store. This the usual thing.

Every once in a while, a publisher gives away a game for free for a limited time (like 24 hours). These games will not be in your library automatically; you actually have to go to the shop page to get them. And when you're there, you can't actually buy it, just register it.

This isn't always reliable, and it's tedious.

Unfortunately, there's really no reliable way. It's not happening a lot, as far as I can tell; I don't remember whether isthereanydeal reports those (I've set them to send me bundle infos and stuff, which does include some giveaways. I just don't remember whether they've sent mails on those Steam giveaways)
Normally it says so. I was never confused.

18th october payday 1 is free to get for 1 day.

Its the 18th.
So join the group now.

It says: "This means that for 24 hours on October 18th, PAYDAY: The Heist will be free to download here on Steam for you to keep forever."

But it doesnt hurt to join the group.
