Besides, a 64-bit version of Steam does not exist and, quite honestly, it doesn't need to run in 64-bit mode as it could never exceed the memory usage to warrant it.
Dota 2, which I'm certain does run in 64bit, has been running in 32bit for the last 2 weeks or so at least. Any ideas on why that is?
Is there a better tool?
Just install the games and play, i would say.
Any suggestions as to what is happening?
But I play in Linux where steam client and most steam games are 32-bit, but some have both 32 and 64-bit versions (like Kentucky Route Zero) and some Linux games are 64-bit only (like XCom)
