Otherwise, it could be your router, modem, WiFi card/adapter, or even your ISP that's the problem. Also, you could have a slower connection speed, browsing the web is not nearly as demanding as online games are.
Hi! Thanks for the response! I lived from the Philippines. I checkED ping using dota 2 lobby connecting from the SG server and got 250-320 today. Yesterday was 220++. I usually play about below 100 ping. And now i dont have any clues why is this happening.
your ISP is PLDT, skycable, smart, or globe?
we in mindanao have higher pings than you. (globe wimax here)
browsers can download files at high speeds with high ping just fine
gaming can deal with low dl speeds, but needs low ping
try pinging your router
start -> run/search -> cmd
ipconfig /all
find your router ip, dns/dhcp server or gateway, most are 192.168.x.1
ping -t 192.168.x.1
let it go for around 5minutes, use ctrl+c to stop
it will give results, min, max, average, loss
if loss is more than 0 your lan/wireless has problems
try changing the channel on your router
log into your router
in your browser, type your router ip address
192.168.x.1
log in, your router should have its name/pass on it, most default to admin/blank
on its wireless settings, change its channel, +/-4 (2.4ghz overlap by +/-2 channels)
