How to open steam to grid view?

I use the grid view in steam but everytime it opens it opens in details view. Is there a way to make steam open to grid view? It used to but now its broken. thanks!

• Open Steam in 'large mode' -- To do so you can either:
  
  • Right click on the Steam system tray icon, click 'Library', then go to 'View' in the menu bar and select 'Large Mode'
    
    
  • Or double click the system tray icon to open Steam and follow the same step above. If there is no option for 'Large Mode', but there is an option for 'Small Mode', then you've already got 'Large Mode' activated.
  
  
• hover over 'Library'
  
• Click 'Games'
  
• Navigate your mouse to the upper far right of the Steam client
  
• Click the grid (4 or more blocks) button

I misread the question -- My mistake, but I've just tested on my end and if you follow the steps above, it should open with those same preferences as it did on my end.

whats "large mode"? how do I open steam in that mode? I just click the icon.

I've updated my original post.

Steam has two visual modes (other than Big Picture), a compact view and an expanded view. Large Mode is an extended view which shows you extra details amongst a whole bunch of other things, while small mode is compact and only shows you your library items.

Does this keep occurring because my steam crashes alot? I think I have to many games and it just crashes :P Usually if I leave it on overnight I wake up and its crashed...

I'm not so sure about crashes, I don't remember the last time my client crashed, but if it does occur I'll check it out and come back here to let you know. Goodluck further :)

Thanks I wonder if its due to my game library size? maybe something to do with the constant checking of updates? Im not sure but just wanted let the community know :D

I honestly haven't a clue, I suppose it is a possibility. Hopefully someone else can assist you with that.
