Asus laptop issues with steam?
Shortly after running steam on my laptop my fan starts run as if the computer were running hot. After cheking the performance tab in the task mannager, nothing appears to be wrong. No other programs cause this to happen. The fan continues to run untill I restart my computer and im running an Asus q550lf-bbi7t07 notebook PC. Has anyone else had this problem or know how i can fix this?

There is a lot that taskmanager does not see. Google 'sysinternals' and download proccess explorer. Run it in admin mode and it should tell you anything about anything that's using a lot of resources.

In my experience, Steam does use a lot of resources and it's also a somewhat threaded application, so that it can use all available cores for processing. your GPU might also 'rev up' so to speak, to deal with any games that might be launched or even just for the overlay itself (the shift tab screen ingame)

All I know is i'm trying to get Steam to download at faster than 5 kilobytes a second. I'm not spending -six days- to download a game.
Just downloaded proccess explorer. Still nothing looks stands out. ill have to look into it more tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
I have an asus laptop with Intel core i7 and a RTX 4070 graphics card and 1TB storage I think asus laptops do have issues with steam because I've been playing rise of the tomb raider and it's been freezing quite a bit during gameplay it never did it before when I first bought the game and installed it been getting black screens to where the pc won't do nothing
