Can't connect to Steam

I fixed my problem by turning my firewall off again. It's strange that it didn't work first time. Well, thanks for all who tried to help. I'm still keeping the original post.

Hello, I have a problem with Steam client for about a year now, but nothing helped (Steam Support, YouTube, Google). I decided to write my problem here hoping it helps.

So first I couldn't connect to Steam (only in Offline mode). Then after trying what I read FAQ (nothing helped), I decided to completely delete Steam with a program that deletes every trace of it, but after re-installing it I could not even go in offline mode because Steam needs to check for updates. It couldn't update it because Steam doesn't want to connect to internet. I get this error message:
Steam - Fatal Error
"Steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again."

I think everything started after I installed VirtualBox. Maybe even after I installed Hamachi and Tunngle. I deleted them all with the program I mentioned earlier, but that did nothing. I had this problem (not updating) earlier on another computer but now after I got another one I don't use it.

Here's a short list of what I did that I can remember (some things not in any particular order):

• Rebooted computer and router (that did nothing).
  
• Tried almost everything that's on FAQ (nothing helped).
  
• Completely deleted and re-install Steam (got error message while checking for updates).
  
• Completely deleted VirtualBox, Hamachi and Tunngle (got more free space, but problem stayed).
  
• Scanned for viruses (nothing found, no effect).
  
• Disabled antivirus and firewall (nothing changed).
  
• Added exception for Steam in antivirus and firewall (didn't notice anything new).
  
• Changed my IP address from dynamic to static (no effect).
  
• Disabled Firewall again (somehow it worked).

Computer specs:
Name: MSI GE70
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 -4700MQ
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M
RAM: 12GB
HDD: 750GB 7200RPM

Security:
Bitdefender Total Security 2014 with built in Firewall

What do you mean? I have only one Steam account if that's what you ask.

I don't think so. Why? Because Steam has problem connecting to internet. So to confirm that it's me trying to login Steam needs to be online. I can't even see the login screen because Steam needs to update. And even if I was blocked why can I login here, in browser? At least I should get message that I'm blocked? I don't think you understand my problem.

I still don't think you understand my problem. It doesn't have to do anything with account. I get error message not while logging in, but while updating. I can't even go to log in screen. I can provide pictures if you want. And I'm not going to create a new account.

I can't even try to log in. Steam tries to update but it fails. I don't type my username and password because I don't see log in screen, because Steam is stuck on updating. My problem is that Steam has problem connecting to internet. Is it clear?

How am I going to try it if I can't even see log in screen. Did you even read my first post? This is not account problem. This is connection problem. Steam tries to update but it fails. Here's screenshot:

and i understand u still didnt found a solution,, this isnt about conection, its bout ur account ! if u creat a new account and if this new 1 connect it simply mean that steam block ur 1st account for some reason,or uv been hack ! easy like that ! delete ur steam from ur PC, download it back and creat a new 1 . lemme know if it work ! THANKS for helping you !

I'm sorry, but I think you didn't read my first post. I said that I have deleted Steam, then I downloaded it again and right after I installed it Steam starts to update but it fails. I don't even try to login because I don't get to log in screen. Steam starts to automatically update you don't need to be logged in to update. How is this account problem if I don't even log in? I don't even try to.
