How can I download extra content without installing the game
E.g. I bought a long time ago Dark Souls 2 and The Banner Saga a long time ago with extra content like the music or the digital art.

Normaly you can download the game and the content is in the specific folder.

BUT i switched from Windows to Ubuntu and now i can't acces the stuff i bought because these games arent avaible for Linux .

Do you have any hints of how I can acces such content?

Difficult. Install Windows-Steam into Wine, download the Windows version, copy the files.

You cannot.

They really should let everyone download whatever they want, whenever they want.

No matter what OS is used.

You cannot download without the game, but you can try this if you can't download the game due to it not supporting your OS:

Download SteamCMD from https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD#Linux

Authenticate on SteamCMD - if it's a bought game, via
login <account> <password>

It will then ask you for your SteamGuard, type it in.

Make a folder on your desktop, get its filepath into the SteamCMD via command:
force_install_dir <location>

Then proceed to download the file via
app_update <GID>

You can find out the GID from the Store page's URL.

i.e. .../app/236430/
Dark Souls II GID is 236430. So the code would be app_update 236430.

P.S. I tested this with They Bleed Pixels, its GID is 211260. It also downloaded the OST DLC by default, without having to insert the separate GID of 211262. In otherwords Dark Souls 2's GID should be enough to get you the pre-order stuff.

v
I could not download GID 211262 - so you cannot simply download the DLC without downloading the basegame. Downloading the basegame installs the DLC content as well.
