Steam Sharing PIN requirement?
Edit - Large oversight / Had to tick the username after approving the computer. Thread may be closed.

Sorry if I'm overlooking something but is a PIN required now for Family Sharing? Am I allowed to share games (Or a select amount) without the use of a pin? If so how? What am I overlooking? I've used Steam Sharing before (During beta) but I don't recall a pin option.

Thanks in advance!

Family View is a separate feature, which exists to restrict certain games (your choice which) from the younger people in your family. You can also restrict friendslist, settings -side, Steam Store and the Community itself from those without the PIN. (It works as a great extra layer of security by the way!)

It is not related to Family Sharing, despite being under the same tab.

How may I use Steam Sharing without the Family Settings? If this is correct I know I'm overlooking something and would appreciate clarification. Would I just hit "Manage other computers" then?

You will have to log on your Steam account on another's computer.
Then you go to Steam -> Settings -> [Family] -> <Authorize this computer>

You may proceed to authorize even their Steam account while at it.

^ Like that.

By not setting up Family View? By completely ignoring the "Manage Family View" button in the settings?

I see, thanks for the help!

I overlooked the problem previously because during the initial beta you weren't required to tick names after approving a PC although I'm assuming it did it automatically.

If you're going to make pointless post then why are you pointlessly lurking the "Help and Tips" section? Do something more productive with your time instead of wasting the time of others.
