Weird Distortion on Steam

Hey, so About two days ago i started seeing stuff like this:

Never seen anything like it.. The activity and discussion pages are the same way too. Google Chrome, firefox, and bing are absolutely fine so i think it is just steam.

I've updated my drivers and ran virus/malware scans.

If anyone has any idea what is causing this, i'd appreciate some help,

Are you using a skin? It could be related to that if you are. Steam client just updated a couple days ago and it could be interferring.

If not, the basics, like Refreshing your Steam Files to verify nothing is corrupted with the update.

The only time I've ever seen anything like that was when a graphics card was overheating and eventually died or when someone uses a beta driver. If you are using a beta driver then try a non-beta version. I wouldn't use anything labeled beta.

Graphical artifacts are a sign of graphics card failure. But I'd imagine he'd see it in game first and foremost.

Both of my older Nvidia 8800GTs failed with weird pink dots first, but it was almost instant. Pink artifacts appeared for an hour or so, then there would be a BSoD saying that the Nvidia Driver had errored. Then it failed permanently.

I would say graphics card failure, if it was appearing in his games as well.

Yeah, was using a skin. Restarted steam without, same problem. I'll try refreshing the files.

Like Tirith said, i would think that it would be distorted in-game, also. So far that has not happened.

I refreshed the files and now it's back to normal. Thanks for your time and help, both of you :)
