Can anyone get a download speed past 10mb/s?
In the Steam settings, you can limit your downloads up to 25mb/s. I have managed to get up to 10.1mb/s. It'll stay for about 10 seconds before the download stops (start and stop issue). Have anyone had more than 10.1mb/s or even close to the 25mb/s mark?

I have an internet speed of 75mb down/35mb up. I would think I should be able to download more than 10.1mb/s.

In Origin, I have downloaded up to 18mb/s. Why can't I get the same with Steam Client? Any tips or ways to get more downloaded for Steam?

I have sure fire proof of Battlenet client downloading my D3 at a whopping 21.73 mb/s. I couldn't believe my eyes. But then again, not surprised. Origin client goes as high as 14.2 mb/s. While I only get 10.1 mb/s from Steam client.

Both Origin and Steam clients are bad. I include Origin because I have the dreaded loop when I download games. Steam client downloads games then stops. I have tried disabling firewalls, removing rules, just about everything possible but issues are still there.

I usually get around 11 mb/s, topped out at 11.4
It would be really helpful if people used capital B to represent byte and lowercase b to represent bit.

Just saying.

Most ISPs advertise speeds in megabits per second (Mbps). Dial-up was 56 kilobits per second (kb/s or kbps), so getting about 7 kB/s (kilobytes per second) was what was supposed to happen there. Now first-world countries standardly have faster speeds so service providers talk in megabits per second.

Why do service providers talk in Mbps? Because they're bigger numbers and thus look better than speeds reported in megabytes per second (MBps). Specifically, they are exactly 8 times bigger.

I never get a higher download speed than 700 kilobytes even though I can play high res internet videos.

Why are you all giving a 6 month life? Just bury this.

First before this is locked, this must be reiterated:

b = bit
B = byte

bit = binary digit / 1 or 0
byte = group of eight bits

So everyone should keep this in mind, otherwise you will confuse people by a factor of 8.
