No, it's not.

You'll get used to it. Really, you will. It's surprising the first couple days but after that you won't notice it. We've been using it for a couple days now on the Beta client.

My biggest issue is just the shape. A lot of my systray icons are roundish. Steam was about the only square one and it was really easy to spot because of that. Now it's joined in with the pack of circles, inconveniencing me a couple seconds to find it. This is not something that I will just "get used to."

Why don't you set those other icons to hide in the the taskbar, if you have no need to interact with them. But seriously I can see your problem with the new icon, I mean those precious few seconds that it seems to take you to find that icon.... you will never get them back.

No reason to act like a jerk to the OP. It's a legitimate complaint. Can't say I like it either and I don't think I'll ever like it.

I wasn't being a jerk to OP, being realistic to a comment made by another user. Things in life change, get used to it.

My mistake, it wasn't the OP. You were still being a jerk and it was uncalled for. Just because you don't see any harm in a few extra seconds wasted each time you look for an icon doesn't mean someone else who is pressed for time doesn't have a reason to complain.

I'm just going to laugh at that comment, if you're pressed for time, why the hell would you be playing games on Steam.

Never had to live your life on a schedule? Plenty of people have small allotments of time where they can play a game and a few extra seconds each time they go to click on something adds up over time.

Laugh at my statement all you want, I'm living in the real world where lifetimes aren't infinite.

Yes I have had to live my life on a schedule, and still do. Yeah well if you have time to play games you have time to waste, as games are good for filling in space when we have nothing to do, I'm sure he will get used to all those confusing circles. I mean the icon is a nice blue, I'm sure all his circle icons are not blue. Soon it will be instantly recognisable.

I personally never consider the time I use to play games a waste. If you do that's fine, but I try to be efficient with my time even when playing a game.

But would you play a game while you should be working? I hope not. I would guess you play your games in your spare time as a source of entertainment or satisfaction. So yes perhaps I could have used spare time instead of wasted time in that sentence. But the result is still the same.

I am afraid there's no way to get back to old look. Only thing you can try I guess is downloading a custom Steam skin from the Internet.

Hehe, I wash and detail cars for a living. That would be quite a feat for me to play my computer games at the same time. :P

Opt out of Steam Beta and it goes back to what it was before.
Incorrect. This isn't beta, this is live.
