Is it normal for my cpu to exceed 100 °C?
Specifacations for my cpu: AMD A10-4600M, Trinity 32nm Technology
Things like my graphics and motherboard run at about 40-50 °C If I am correct the motherboard houses the cpu... So. Its pretty llikely its normal right? I may be exaggerating, My cpu goes to about 98 to 102 degrees. So I would not say it exceeds 100 all that much.

no. check if the cpu cooler fan is connected to the motherboard header.

if you did not build the computer, go ask a computer technician to do it for you (for a fee).

if this is an old computer, thermal paste may need to be re-applied or a good cpu cooler replacement may be needed.

Maximum operating temperature 100°C

http://www.cpu-world.com/Glossary/M/Minimum_Maximum_operating_temperatures.html

Is this when its idling or playing a game?

Has it always been like this?

Can you find a shop that will look at it for you.

It maybe something small like dust build up on the heatsink\fan. Or replacing the fan because its dying.

Nope. When I am watching things like movies it is 100 Degress. When I am doing nothing its 100 degrees. Cant amagine what its like when playing games. Espeacily cause I play games like NS2 and blacklight which are both very cpu demanding games. I bet its 200 Degrees when playing games.

It sounds like you're probably not getting the correct reading, what are you using to get the temps from? Try using CPUID Hardware Monitor it's about as accurate as they come & captures max temps while you play.

If it only crashes once a day that sounds like the time it's overheating.

Have you tried playing with the charger in? It might cut down on heat emitted from the battery.

The only time my pc every did that was when the feet on my CPU cooler were broken and it wasn't holding the cooler against the CPU itself, thus it was heating up and eventually the pc turned itself off due to the danger of running the chip at 100 degrees+

If it's really 90 - 100, even in the Bios then you have a physical cooling problem that needs to be sorted. If it's purely READING it as 100 but it's really 60 then you have a sensor problem, but it will continue to work. But then, I would have expected it to have turned itself off if it even detected that heat.
