Warhammer 40k: Dawn of war & Winter assault cd-key
Hi.
I was thinknig of adding these two to my library through "Activate a product on Steam".
Steam does not however accept my two CD-keys, and as I was searching for "acceptable" CD-keys, these two was not part of it.

So my question is, why not? I bought these two a long time ago, and I'm not planning on buying them again just because they won't be accepted/activated.

Why should Valve accept all retail keys? They did not sell that game to you ;)

Why not?

Maybe the people that made the game haven't given Valve their database of CD-Keys to let Steam know what exactly you are trying to activate?

You don't need to buy them again, you can add them as "non steam games" and have the steam overlay etc.

Fair enough, thought that since Valve is advertising the Dawn of war series, that my good'ol cd-keys would work. But I just bought the THQ package :P

Thanks for the replies :)

But it does not make any sense that my Dawn of War CD key just added the game to my library but the Winter Assault CD key is labeled "invalid". I purchased both games in a store but Steam will only let me have one of them.

I'm not gonna pay 8 Euro again, especially not for such an old game I will play about once every two years.

You replied to a 2 year old thread.

Add the other game as a non steam game, You wont even notice the difference.

Install as normal then load steam and "Games/Add non steam game"
