How to make any game run faster!

This is a simple defragmentation program made by Microsoft that reorganizes a game's files in a way that will allow it to run faster. This program cannot harm your computer in anyway but I reccomend only using it for games.

Step 1: Download "Contig" From technet by Microsoft (You will need WinZip or WinRAR etc.)

Step 2: Access your Steam game's files in your computer
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Your Game

Step 3: Open the games main folder and drag Contig into it (You can also copy and paste it in case you would want to use it on another game)

Step 4: This is very important.
- With contig in your game's main files, right click contig.
- Create a shortcut
- Drag the shortcut to your desktop
(Be sure that there isn't a shortcut for contig AND contig in your game files, this can mess things up. You need contig in your game files, and the shortcut on your desktop)
- Right click the shortcut and select "Properties"
In the properties it should say something like this
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\YourGame\YourGame\Contig.exe"
(Very Important) at the very end of that line type a "space", a dash (-) and an "s"
It should now look like this
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\YourGame\YourGame\Contig.exe" -s

-Now exit the properties.
-Double click the shortcut, NOT the contig that is in your game files.

A black box should appear on your screen with a lot of lines of text running through it, don't freak out and think you've destroyed your PC or anything, this is just contig reorganzing your game files.

Let Contig do this, don't exit our or do anything else while Contig is doing this, it should only take about 30 seconds depending on how large the game is. When the black box disappears you can remove the shortcut and Contig from your game files and delete them if you choose to. Contig has finished it's work and you can play your game!

I hope this helps some people, If it does somehow mess up your game (This could only happen if you didn't follow the instructions correctly) just re-install the game.

And I would be cautious letting it run on an SSD. SSDs are not fans of normal defragging methods.

Also, I think TirithRR's post was to imply it's a bad idea to do it on a SSD in the first place.
