Cutscene Quality Issues
I've been playing a few games on a new PC and it's been running fine apart from issues with video/cutscene quality. I've given FC3 and ME3 a try and the cutscene quality from these games, given their somewhat good quality for video/cutscene, I've had a poor experience with them due to their low qwuality. It's making me scratch my head as to why as in the normal game, the graphics are pretty much all high and fine. I'm willing to provide specs and other info if someone knows or can have a good guess as to why it's doing this.

Thanks for your time.

Not sure what ME3 is; but I know for fact in FC3, those are not cut-scenes. They are scripted to a "T" yes, but it always uses the in-game graphics at all times. How that all looks is based on your visual settings.

ME3 would be Mass Effect 3, sorry. I was referring to the intro video it has, the quality on that is shockingly low, likewise with other games that have these cinematic cutscenes and such, the video quality of them are poor and it's something that confuses me.

Then it must be your system specs; ME3 is the same on PC as it was on console. Yes the graphics aren't great, but it is in it's original form/quality. Unless your specs suck.

Make sure the visuals are cranked up fully (if your specs handle that) and that your screen resolution is set correctly in-game.

Lot of games have low resolution cutscenes that are not running 1920x1080 or higher.

ME3 was in 720p on consoles; so running it 1080p on a PC, it does look a bit outdated; least I thought so.

So can my 1920x1080 monitor be an issue also for these games? Can it be stretching out the quality a little too much in cinematics?

they are pre-rendered cutscenes
in which case its just playing a video file instead of gpu modeled and rendered
if the file was rendered in 720p, ther is nothing that can upconvert it to 1080+ without quality loss

\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\Movies
bik files are the movies, nothing you can do to make them better

It is what it is; it's not something u can fix. I seriously don't even know what the complaining is about. Crank up the games to the full quality your system allows for and enjoy.

ME3 is pre-rendered movie files. FC3 is real-time rendering.

Bad-Motha, I'm not complaining mate, lol. It's a new PC for me coming from consoles, so there's some tech stuff that make me wonder, that's all. I'm more than happy with them as they are, I was just curious if the issue was something on my side or not. No complaints!

Either way, I appreciate the input and help from you guys. Thanks a lot.

Personally, I wish that pre-rendered cutscenes would just die off already. They can be quite jarring at times and they make the game take up more space. Hardware has reached the point where there's basically no need for pre-rendered cutscenes anymore.

My apologies; didn't mean to sound PO'ed or "raging"

But yea I mean ME3 is pretty medicore to say the least. The visuals are crap at best. ME1 and 2 are much better IMO.

I was looking forward to ME3 visuals, too. The previous games were gorgeous!

But again, thanks a lot for the help, guys and girls.
