Is your friend or family member currently playing a game? If they are playing any of their games, you cannot play any of them.
He has a lot of games and it says buy when I tried to 5 or more of them
Edit: It's also possible he's shared with multiple other people, from where someone ELSE is using his library at the moment, even if he may not be. Best way is to ask him.
Your friend going offline won't affect you using his/her library.
They wouldn't appear in the list to begin with.
Edit: Except with exceptions like Alice: Madness Returns, which would still download - but wouldn't let you play the game.

Only one user can have access to a Library at a time, so if someone else is using his library, you would not be able to play his games. Correct.
Seriously if u like the game, buy it. Sharing is not a real viable option, especially if the library owner is sharing with more than one person, good luck getting a turn.
