Should I run in high performance mode?
Should I run my graphics card and laptop in high performance/maximum performace mode? At the moment I run on balanced mode. I'm worried running on high performance could harm my laptop after awhile. I plan to use it to help improve performance on some high performace games.

(I generally get 35-40 FPS at high settings on most games)

My Specs:
Processor: @2.50 @2.50 GHz 3rd generation Intel Core i5-3210M Processor

Graphics: Intel HD graphics 4000 with up to 1696MB total graphics memory

RAM: 8GB DDR3 SDRAM (2 DIMM)

Thanks Guys

If you're running on mains (or don't mind recharging your battery) and have adequate cooling/air flow, running on high performance will give better results, although use more power. It shouldn't have any long term negative effects on your hardware.

It can't harm the laptop; all that will happen is when running off the battery; u won't get nearly as much time as you could when running as when set to Balanced or Power Saving.

High Performance will just force the CPU clock to stay at it's regular clock; and it won't auto-downclock. TBO it's really not needed, Balanced should be fine. Now if your GPU has a setting of it's own for this; then yes you want that set to Max Performance within the Intel HD Graphics Options.
