Consider running something like Malware Bytes, and removing files you don't remember downloading, or no longer need. Set aside sort of a "computer clean up day". Or perhaps consider reinstalling your OS all together. Remember to never click on any fishy looking links that look like the steam community.

And get rid of the malware junk first, before you go changing passwords for your accounts like Steam, Email, etc. Otherwise they might just get logged by whatever possible malware is present on the system.

Totally man, steam will take a while to get back to you, there's a lot of people here in this community of ours. But I wouldn't take your time cleaning your PC, who knows what else could be infected.

What antivirus u have?

Regardless, I doubt it will catch it, u will want to scan with apps like
Malwarebytes Antimalware Free Edition
Spybot S&D
SuperAntiSpyware

They will almost always catch much more things that antivirus are not setup to catch.
