How to get rid of old trade offer notification
[ EDIT ]
[ It's gone. Coincidence much? ;> ]

So umm... during the summer sale I received a trade offer, it is invalid as the item has been traded away but the notification stays there ever since. I thought it would automatically move to the trading history but it didn't.
Am I doing something wrong here? That constant green you-have-pending-trade-offer message button starts to really irritate me.

It is annoying, normally it just goes after time. Make sure you have tried logging in through Steam online then if that doesn't work then you just have to wait as far as I know.

Yes, but isn't over a month a little long or is it an average time in such case? I mean, the FAQ says that "If a trade offer contains an item that is traded away (...) it will automatically be moved into Offer History." and "Trade offers automatically expire after 2 weeks".

Put it this way, it has happened to me probably around 15 times. Out of those 15 times i'd say 10 go within a week 3 go within a month and then I had 2 which took around 4-5 month to disappear and with someone who has OCD it just kills me.
I'm not sure if there is a quick fix for it but you might get someone else commenting with a solution which will also help me to.

That is irrelevant to this topic, if you want friends then go in the 'New to Steam' Forum. Also you're not going to get many people adding you if you have no games.

So it seems to be just a normal situation.
Thank you for your answers, I was afraid that something went wrong. We might now wait for a solution but I'd better brace myself and wait patiently for it to disappear...
