Mass Effect 2 "Failed to initialze the physics system" PhysX error
Hello all,

I picked up ME2 on the summer sale and can't get passed the aforementioned error. I have tried every fix/work-around I can find.

Tried installing the legacy physX drivers.

Uninstalled GF experience, physX & graphics drivers, Booted into safe mode and ran driver sweeper. Then only reinstalled the graphics driver.Tried to run the verison of physX that comes w/ ME2 and it won't finish the install b/c it detects a newer version even though I don't have it installed. (Same thing it did when I DID have it installed)

Searched for all physX files on my C partition and deleted all of them. Again tried to install Physix that came w/ ME2.

One of fixes that seem to work for some (although it was more around the time ME2 came out) was to go to add/remove programs right click Nvidia Physx and repair it. I don't have an entry for Physx, only Nvidia Graphics driver. Even what Physx was installed I had no entry for it. (just GF Experience and Graphics Driver) Which is why I had hoped not installing GF experience may let me install the old version of physX.

At this point I'm stuck. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

BTW I'm running, an Asus Z87 mobo, i5 4670k, and a GTX 770 on Windows home 64 bit.

Thanks

Got it! After uninstalling the graphics driver and before reinstalling them I was finally able to install the version of physX that comes w/ ME2
