why steam doesn't support the dmz?

Are you talking about the "DMZ" setting of the router? Steam should support that no problem, all DMZ really does is open everything in your router to your internet connection.

Steam works just fine on DMZ, I've been using that kind of setup for years.

steam does not work on routers with a true DMZ , most routers at home do not have a true DMZ , so it works fine.

Some home routers refer to a DMZ host. A home router DMZ host is a host on the internal network that has all ports exposed, except those ports otherwise forwarded. By definition this is not a true DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), since it alone does not separate the host from the internal network.

Steam works on "true DMZ" just as well. After all, why does it even need to access the rest of the network?

it does not a true DMZ does all kinds of proxy stuff.
it is not for client traffic either , more for hosting server(any kind)

you have a DMZ host in the router not the same thing.

Wait, what? What kind of proxy? A DMZ just shields the rest of the network from the exposed host. While it can has a proxy, it would then be DMZ with proxy.

your DMZ just opens your system up for all ports not even close to what a DMZ really is.
not very secure either , I rather sit behind the NAT.

I tried steam with a real DMZ it does not work , it does work in my providers router.

Its not surprising that Steam has troubles working behind a proxy, if you use a DMZ with one.
