144hz to 60hz monitor/ feels slow
Just switched from a 144hz monitor for a 1440p monitor but everything feels so sluggish and slow. This goes for games that that cant even reach past 60 fps.

Disable Vsync.

Set fps_max to 640.

Separately for each game manually.

Switch back to 144hz or take some time to get used to 60hz.

Not that the same launch argument works for each and every game. In fact, I'd be surprised if that worked in other than Source -engine games.

You can't tell a difference but in input lag when it comes to games that go above the monitor's refresh rate either. In those scenarios I resort to Nvidia's FastSync myself.

If framerates below the monitor's refresh rate feel more sluggish on the 60Hz than on the 144Hz, then your 144Hz possibly used G-Sync or FreeSync technology where the monitor's refresh rate adjusts to your output's framerate.

Basically what FPS said,
