Is it possible to download game updates separately?

The house I just moved into has horrible Internet that struggles updating games. This is unfortunate since I can't play any of the games I would like to since they require an update.
So I'm wondering if it is possible to download the updates separately on my laptop or phone, to install on my main rig at home later?
Or do I really need to lug my heavy desktop somewhere to let them install?? That sounds crazy.

No you can not download them as a seperate download they have to be downloaded on the system that the game is installed on.

I figured as much, just kind of silly all my games are bricked. Pains of living out in the country I suppose.

I guess you could try the games website see if they have the update that is downloadable but steam works different then games that don't need steam.

you can copy the complete game over, after it has been updated.
