Slow write speed 3.MB/s downloading steam games with new ssd, internet download speed 10MB/s

Hello and thanks for your help!
I recently installed a new ssd (HyperX Savage 960gb write speed 530MB/s) and now while downloading games from steam I get a cap of 3.8 MB/s with ethernet cable while before it has always been around 10MB/s.
The download window places the green line of disk speed much below the blue stripes of internet speed. I ran a test with UserBenchmark SSD speed test tool and it tells me the SSD is performing at 103% with perfect writing speed.
My pc is still the same, Alienware m17x R4 notebook 16GB ram and 2.3 Ghz processor. Windows 7.
I wonder if maybe I installed a driver incorrectly, a chipset perhaps...
I wish I was a computer expert, but sadly I am not :(

Check the Steam Settings; it allows you to display via MegaBytes or MegaBits

When Steam writes to your drives though, you really have no control over how that goes.
