Game -> *RMB* -> [Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files...]
Besides, generally games are pretty vocal about missing files if it's related to DirectX or Visual C++.
If you're having issues running games, I'd try verifying the game cache or try reinstalling the GPU drivers.
Press [Steam > Check for Video Driver Updates] if you want to try reinstalling your videocard drivers. Nvidia for example allows a clean installation under [Custom Installation].
Go to the game's install directory and run the setup.exe for it.
Each game may require a specific DLL to run. The only way to get that DLL is to run the setup.exe specific to that version.
Run it as an administrator (right mouse click it.)
