XBOX ONE VS XBOX 360 controller

I have a wired xbox360 controller now, but I'd like to get a wireless xbox one controller for windows. I heard that for some pc games the x1 controller doesn't work properly (the x1 for windows one). Is that true or can I buy the controller?
The xbox360 controller works flawlessly with everything.

That's wrong, it works as fine as the 360 one.

It's worked on both mine (Windows 10 AE) and my brother's (Windows 7).

Do bear in mind that the Bluetooth functionality only works on Windows 10 AE. The RF dongle (despite wording on a lot of the products) supports Windows 7, 8.1, 10 and 10 AE.

Can't say I've really had issues.

Correction: You should get one that has the RF adaptor included.

No, the adapter works, that's the RF.
