Can i have infinite refunds?
Hello guys, so i love the refund function. But im using it very often and i have a feeling its not right, in the last month i bought like 5 games on steam and 4 i refunded, because i didnt like them (far cry 3, battlestations midway, injustice and so on) On my email came that im using it very often and that i should get informed before i buy something. I want to know your opinion guys.

It's not about our opinions. If you refund too much then Valve will consider it abuse and remove your ability to do it.
Refunds cost valve money, they're not going to be infinite. There's plenty of different ways to get information on the game before you buy it. Use them.
Ok, from now on, i will always inform myself, or dont refund the game at all
Use it when needed, just try to aim for 1 in 5 instead of 4 in 5.
Hey I bought games on my profile and spent quite a bit of money on some of them, played the game for about 1 hour didnt like it , but I have kept it, not once have i ever asked for a refund, its my own fault for not doing any research and watching videos on the tube or even getting the demo to play.

Refunds cost valve money,

Refunds cost valve money? I cant see why, your just sending it bank to the person from your bank. now that dosent cost money to do so thats just a straight forward transfer back to the owner.

So anyway allways do your research before you buy, there are ways of trying out all new games before you buy.

It doesn't cost you money. Valve (and every other business out there) is paying a transaction fee (base amount + percentage) to each every payment processor they do business with coming and going. How do you think Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, Global Collect and others make the bulk of their money?

These fees are normally covered by the revenue of the product you bought, but in the case of a refund, they're paid twice (once to accept your payment, once to return the money) while leaving Valve with zero revenue.

Like the refund policy says, its not meant to be a demo service. Its for when you made a really wrong purchase and either have technical problems or the game is really not that what you thought it would be.
Its not for buying games, giving them a try and then refunding them. That is clearly stated as abuse of the system.

Merchant fees are generally refunded on a refund for a product. (Amex may be excluded as their rates are HORRENDOUSLY high and i can't remember if they do or don't refund). The majority of their money is made from the day to day normal transactions and the monthly merchant charge for their services and rental of any PDQ equipment (which im assuming is zero being purely online). The only real "loss" to Valve is their percentage of the lost sale.

I think that's only if they cancel the charge, but must admit I'm not exactly an expert on financial transactions at Valve's scale. During my brief spell working at a bank though, I did learn they like to screw you coming and going.

Also, if refunds are no harm, no foul, the limitation doesn't make much sense, given that it could be a fully automated no cost bit of software then. At the very least, there's a penalty for Valve for making them process too many refunds.
