Not enough disk space?
I recently got a new computer and am trying to download game from steam. Two games downloaded just fine on to my second hard drive called E:, but now any game I try to download, big and small says "Not enough disk space" and stops the download. I know there is enough space though because the hard drive still has 900 GB open and the biggest game I tried to download was only a few GB. Anyone know what is up with this?

Format your drive to ntfs. The file was probably like 4 gb or more so it couldnt download.

Check in "Disk Management" to see what file system you are set up for. NTFS or FAT32? FAT32 only supports individual files up to 4GB in size and volumes up to 2TB in size. For example, if you had a large video file over 4GB in size, you just couldn't save it on the FAT32 file system. if you had a 3TB drive, you couldn't format it as a single FAT32 partition. NTFS has much higher theoretical limits.

The drive is formatted as NTFS. I don't even have the option to change it to FAT32.

Also some of the things I tried to download were level then half a GB so that wouldn't have stopped them I dont think.

Go to Steam > Settings > Download > Steam Library Folders

Verify your used space and free space and go from there.

Początkowo opublikowane przez cool mint chip:
Go to Steam > Settings > Download > Steam Library Folders

Verify your used space and free space and go from there.

Checked that and is says the E: drive has 905.4 GB free so I still don't know what's up.

1) I have none of the programs listed downloaded. Also my antivirus is called "Sophos Protection", it is something we have to download to use the wifi at my college. Anyone with a laptop or a desktop with wifi capabilities has it and they are using steam just fine so I don't think that is the problem.
2) I downloaded and ran the programs suggested and they found no Viruses on my computer. I do not know where they would have come from if I do have viruses though because the only thing I have downloaded are from major companies (i.e. League of Legends, Battle.net and Overwatch, and Steam; thats all).
3) I tried all the trouble shooting ones that I could that it suggested. None of those work, but since I am at college I can not do some of them like reseting or power cycling the router.
