VPN to download a game? [Please help]
Firstly, I must say that I am using a school macbook air, it allows me to open Steam and keep it, however when it comes to downloading games, it gives me a "Content servers are unreachable" error, I've been assuming it's because steam community is blocked, however I'm using a VPN at the moment on chrome to bypass that.

Is there a way to install steam games through a browser VPN, it won't allow me to download a VPN on the computer, nor install a VPN profile, so my only option is to use a browser VPN.

If not, I have a personal windows laptop, is there a way to access Mac-compatible games on the windows laptop and transfer them pre-installed onto my Mac (or at least to where they don't have to access the content servers in order to download.)?

Lastly, one more question if neither of those above work, is it possible to get the Mac OS on my personal laptop and download the games and then transfer it from there?

Thanks in advance to any replies.

Games must be downloaded through the Steam client, it's not possible to download using a browser. You could try using the command line version of Steam to download the games, but I have no reason to believe it would function any differently.

The first thing I would do is try selecting several different download regions, some close by, some far away (a different country.) I would avoid using a VPN with Steam.

Worst case scenario, you could use SteamCMD to download the OS X version of the game on your Windows PC.

My Uni network blocks steam as well and I use PIA - https://www.privateinternetaccess.com to bypass it.

Maybe that one works for you?

Yes you can transfer the games over, that works as well.

You won't be able to access the mac files on a windows PC. It'll download the windows files.

You'll also probably hit an issue in that you need to launch the game in online mode at least once from the mac before you can run them in offline mode while not connected.

If the school board doesn't want you to use the school line to download games, so be it. Download tue game at home.

That's a good idea, however it doesn't work at all, home or at school, has a filter that blocks it 24/7

Well, if even your home has a filter, then something is quite wrong.
