Could the bailiffs seize your steam account to pay of debts
I don't believe this has been bought up before but here goes... After watching dozens of programs on televisons about bailiffs seizing peoples goods, im just wondering if bailiffs could seize a steam account to pay off someones debt.

Would it be legal if a court has authorized such a seizure. e.g a account with 200 games and a inventory full of goods such as knifes etc... Its just a though.

P.S im not in debt before anyone asks :steamhappy:

There would be no way to legally transfer whatever value the digital items might have. So no, your account wont be siezed.

It has no value, and is non-transferable, they wouldn't bother with it.

I suppose your game items they could take but since they'd need to get access to the account first and Steam wouldn't give it to them that isn't going to happen either.

Your first mistake is believing you actually own the account to begin with as you don't. :steamhappy:

You don't know that. It can be Gabe posting in disguise. Then he does own the account.

Manage your finances, make hard choices early if your income drops, pay your bills and call to make an arrangement immediately if you can't and you won't have to worry about the bailiffs.

Also don't go into debt for consumer goods. Contrary to popular belief, living with a second hand small TV instead of a 60" monster on the wall is not hazardous to your health.

Lastly, when you get to that stage, the steam account will be the last thing you care or think about, unless you've got to and stay in the whole mess due to a serious gaming addiction.

They're more likely to seize your tangible property - like the system that you use Steam on, for example.
