Searching for a person on browser
You know how in the U.I. on client you can click friends and add a friend? It shows you a place to search for people.

My steam client usually bugs out and can't navigate any more after I look at 2 profiles or more, but Steam-in-browser doesn't bug out.

So is it possible to search for people in browser?

Yes you can search for people via the steam community in a web browser aswell as in the steam client.

Go to steampowered.com > community > search groups or people > name of person
