HDD with steam died, games on other HDD not showing in my Library
So a bit of backstory.

Last night there was some clicking coming from my computer, my D drive where Steam was installed. The games I was playing kept freezing for a long time and when I tabbed out I saw steam was not open, when I tried to open it it said there was an error, and when I tried to access the D drive it said "D:\ is not accessible. A device which does not exist was specified" so my D drive is dead, I shut down my computer and removed the D drive.

I have most of my games downloaded on another drive (G) which is working fine. However when I reinstalled steam on my G drive it shows all of my games to be uninstalled.

So my question is how do I get Steam to recognise the games are actually installed.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what you mean so presumably no.
Move your games from their current G:\ location into the new Steam installation.

Close Steam
Cut, NOT copy, Cut the games folder on G:\ and paste it into
G:\Steam\steamapps\
Load Steam and Steam should detect the games as they'll be in Steam default Library location.
Or... just add the Library folder from it's current location.
Thank your everyone for your help. As I think was said above, I fixed it by replacing the steamapps folder from where my games are stored to the empty steamapps folder in the new Steam download. A few games need updates but apart from that it seems to be sorted.
