Why can I no longer buy Gifts for my friends? I'm Canadian and they live in the US?
This is new. I usually buy my friends random games that are on sale for like $1-$5.

Now I can't. Is this because of the new Regional Pricing?

Am I going to have to resort to Key Sellers for this now?

What is the message that is displayed that prevents you from completing the purchase?

edit: well, I waited but I have other things to do.

Hard to say exactly without knowing what message you are getting. If it is because of price differences, it will say something to the effect of "because of regional differences in prices...". If you possibly have a gifting flag, it would tell you something about the purchase not going through and to contact Support if it continues. If there's a regional restriction, it will tell you that the game isn't available or allowed in that region.

Yeah, hard to say because you've left out the important information: the message you got preventing the transaction.

Although if the message is "Due to regional price differences, the gift you are trying to send cannot be sent to the recipient's region." That's been around for a long time, and if the CAD has dipped out of range in value that could be the cause.

And it looks like the CAD has seen better days vs the USD, so that might be the reason.

It's Due to Regional Pricing it says. But this has never been a problem before :/

If the price difference between the 2 regions is more than 10% after currency conversion, you can not gift it. The original regional restrictions still apply, if the game has them.

If that is the case, send one of these using external funds only...

For custom amounts over the minimum allowed to purchase, use this guide...

For price references, use this site... https://steamdb.info/

Different games are going to be priced at different rates. Publishers don't always follow one specific pricing strategy between regions. While you might be able to gift one particular title, another might be out of reach of the 10% threshold. I run into this with some of my friends in Europe sometimes.

Also, it could be that the current currency exchange between $US and $CAD has widened far enough to put games you used to be able to gift are now out of reach.
