Steam Guard problem : No mail received !
Since yesterday I try to install Steam on a second PC without success because I do not receive any mail from Steam !
My mail box is working correctly and I checked the Spam box.
I tried several times during yesterday and again today : NO MAIL ....
The big problem is that there is absolutely no way to contact the Steam support ! What a shame !
So my last chance is here...

I have the same issue when trying to login with another computer that no mail from Steam Guard was received. Thats why for the first time tried to activate those App to have in future a second option. But same with login in to the app, no mail from Steam Guard with code was received.
I checked my mail and it could receive mails from other addresses, no mail in spam, no spam filter active, just in case mails from steam are white listed.
Some hours later I tried to login in a browser, this time one mail from Steam Guard came through and I could login in the browser.
Tried on my other computer and the app again, but again no mails coming through from Steam Guard.
Neither there is some forward problem somewhere in the internet or Valve has a problem with their Steam Guard Mail server that send the login codes.

If not getting email, it could be one of the following.

- Steam Server issues or system protocol issue to give you email.

- Your email providers blocking it all of a sudden, or something wrong on their end.


If have access to account still try this, use a 2nd email you have, or make one, go to steam account change email to your 2nd email, and if successful changed email, change it back to old one again, and if get code again right away, then might be protocol issue on Steam issue, and you solved that issue as should be fixed at least. Had it happen to me twice in the past years ago, before I switched to 2FA fully, same thing happen to me on PayPal as well.

I can not change or add another mail address or add a phone number because even with a fresh login session they say "we need to be sure that you are you and we have send a mail with a link to your mail account.". And same as for the mail with the Steam Guard Code those mails do not get through.

Since from many tries 1 single Steam Guard Code mail was received and all other mails from other mail servers receiving just fine and since there is nothing in spam folder and the steam address is white listed I don't think it is a problem from my mail provider.

It really think it must be a problem on Vales Servers. But since we have weekend today probably nobody is working on it.

Email providers can be iffy as they can randomly block things whenever, one day getting it, the next it suddenly stop getting it.

Anyways to contact Steam support visit Steam help page > My account > data releated to my account > scroll to the bottom, and click on contact support.

PS : My only access to Steam today (as I can not connect anywhere else without the Steam Guard code) is the Steam application...

This "Contact Support" is extremely hidden and it is nothing more than the possibility to send a message with an attachment where you maybe in a day or a week or maybe never get an answer? Here the direct link for people that struggle to find this form.

I don't know if it was just luck that a 2nd single mail with a code found its way through or if someone fixed the problem on a server(?). But with this 2nd single steam guard code I was able to activate this Steam-Mobile-Authentifikator app and have now finally 2FA active and did not longer relay on those very unreliable Steam Guard mails (also a kind of 2FA).
But what happens now If I will lost my phone? I mean I saw and saved this Reactivation Code when activating the Steam-Mobile-Authentifikator app, but why can value not use standard Time-based One-time Password Algorithmus (OATH-TOTP) according to RFC 4226 like anyone else?

Ensure you write down the recovery code, this is to remove the steam mobile app from the account in case anything happen to the app, or phone, switching it back to email 2FA.

I assume reason why they don't give you one time login codes is because possible for someone guessing it correctly, or the fact code is only 5 characters long.
