"CONNECTION PROBLEM There was a problem connecting with Steam. Please try again later"
Steam was working fine yesterday. Suddenly 12 hours ago and continuing now, I can't log into Steam. I can't play any of my games.
1. When I click on the Steam icon I first get the Sign In page.
2. I fill that in and press Sign In, then I get the message "CONNECTION PROBLEM There was a problem connecting with Steam. Please try again later".
I tried the first 3 fixes from here https://pcstrike.com/could-not-connect-to-steam-network/, Run as Administrator, and Change UDP to TCP, but no effect.
My setup is a Windows 10 PC, i7-67000K cpu, running in Australia.
Any suggestions?
Should I email support@steampowered.com?
Thanks.

Some problem. Installed the update and cannot login afterwards. Can login on Browser and on the mobile app, but the Client seems to have some troubles.

The problem continues, 10 hours later. Looks like this problem won't solve itself. Looks like several people have this problem.

I agree I think it was the most recent update that broke something.

Edit:

Hopefully they read this thread and can create an update to fix it. Either way I think we'll have to wait for the next client update and hope it lets us connect to steam and log in at that point.

No because they don't use that email address. You need to raise a support ticket using either the browser version of Steam or the mobile app if you have it installed.

Lithurge, how to contact Steam Support. I've followed the Steam Support, Steam Client problems link, but it dead ends without leading to a way to contact a live person at Steam for support. What are the steps to get a support ticket?

Just had a client update but it didn't fix the problem. Still can't connect and log in from the client.

Do not have VPN, Can add more jumps and still require network to work to get to other network this will increase out of sync, and with wifi in top of this only only make it worse.

system clock, or wrong contry and system time not in sync. ( right click time , use adjust time ) require reboot of pc so all logs in system can be corrected.

No connection is seen as you did not get through or in time establish its connection, this is only very few that has this.

change to nearest steam DL server zone. ( as test )

ps.
Dont forget "steam://flushconfig"

im not so sure this is a steam problem, then million of steam user will have replyed.
just so you graps it steam have 22 million user per hour online, this thread will be RED HOT, if all had it.

ps.
and stop fiddle with UDP and TCP , both have pro and cons, work best together not as one over the other. ( then you do that just make it worse then it repack it in other protocol and that still dont make it work if time in recive data run out app crash. technicaly its says more about your crappy network if you need to do such, this was learn in long distance in modem age, this is fiber now. and protocol it still working that way, because of the diffrent senario if you need them. ( gamers do not )

other way to say it, it work 12hours ago, then why will you fiddle with UDP and TCP.

Pancakes11, or anyone who can comment, does one have to backup the Steam library before uninstall and re-install Steam? Or can one just uninstall immediately and reinstall?

Thanks for suggestions, Iceira [W10]. Tried steam://flushconfig, undid the TCP, and the other things aren't relevant to my situation. Looks like I will have to uninstall and re-install.

I didn't have to make backups however its always better to be safe than sorry so if you're that worried about it and have the space to make backups it might be a good idea..
