Steam Music Player Not Working
Hello everyone! I would like to ask the community for a possible fix of my small problem with steam music player.
It used to work just fine, but recently it just does not respond to actions like pressing "Play" button or "Play this album/playlist" and player window just sits there. Only trying to play official Payday 2 soundtrack here by the way, not custom tracks.
Thanks for your attention. I hope some of you may provide a solution for me, steam reinstall is a very bad option for me now xP

Instead of reinstalling.

Exit Steam. (Top left: [Steam > Exit])

Hold down [Windows] and [R] -keys
steam://flushconfig
Press [Enter]

See if your music player works any better.

Could you retry scanning the files under [Steam > Settings > Music] instead?

soundtrack should be prepared in a special way by the developers to add it in built-in player...

I recommend to use any third-party player: apollo, foobar2000, aimp
they are free and supports all popular file formats, have no problems with encoding and other

SO I'm trying to figure out what changed.... Last night my music player worked and today it doesn't. I click the button and it says "Now Playing" but nothing happens. The bar doesn't move, no sound is coming out, nada. I've reset the database, reinstalled steam itself, even restarted my pc but I get nothing. This is very frustrating considering that it just worked less than 12 hours ago. I've tested all the music on my pc which all work with the other media players/programs I have installed, just not steam. Anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

It seems like a conflict with the evil microsoft overlords. Maybe have a friend try it on a mac. The player stopped working after this last update rape from windows. I wish they'd just stay in their lane and quit veering out of it. Everytime they try something new Microsoft ♥♥♥♥♥ it up and nearly ruins the market. If only they'd stop costing me money and time with these garbage updates the last few years. Overthrow Microsoft...

Idk if this will help but go to RL in your games library
Scroll down till you find the ADDITIONAL CONTENT RL SOUNDTRACK
Click and view to see if its installed, I had to re-download it for some reason but it works fine now.

I don't know how to fix it I have the same issue however I have an alternative.... browse the local files of the album you would like to listen to then select all of the songs in the file and open in a different music player like windows media player, I believe there was also one called groove music works just fine from there
