Controller and Keyboard not working on PC FIFA 17, help please!

I was wondering if I could run FIFA through steam somehow? My issue is only with FIFA 17, no other game. The controller works perfectly with everything else. I also tried to get help here (https://www.reddit.com/r/fifa17/comments/573mx2/controller_and_keyboard_not_working_on_pc_fifa_17/)

About a week ago my controller stopped working with FIFA 17, but up until that point it worked perfectly. I have tried different usb ports but to no avail. I purchased a new controller, but even it didn't work. It won't even recognise my keyboard to get past the language selection.

My controllers are cheap xbox 360 controller replicas but they should be sound. Today I tried updating windows, graphics drivers, controller & keyboard drivers, re-installing and updating FIFA, reinstalling Origin, defragging hard drive,tried 3 different controller management software packages and even REINSTALLED my OS!

Any help would be appreciated!

Its the game, ALT+TAB out and back in again; very simple.
Most EA games do this.
